Step 1. Remove the Mirror Cap

Remove mirror cap. From the front of mirror (the side that points toward the front of the truck), grip the edge of the mirror cap above mirror and pull towards you. It'll probably pop, that's fine... it's just the clips.

Step 2. Remove the Mirror Turn Signal

Remove 2x Phillips screws and undo the clip on back of signal. You can let hang free or remove from vehicle completely.

3

Step 3. Remove OEM Mirror

Using a flat headed screwdriver, carefully pry and push 2x metal clips toward rear of truck / back of mirror.

When there is space on the mirror side, grip edge of mirror with fingers. Reach through rear of mirror housing and push on opposite side of mirror with even and moderate pressure to pop the clips on the back of the mirror off of the attachment points on the mirror motor assembly. See picture for an idea on what the attachment points look like.

Step 4. Remove All Wires

Unplug all wires from the back of the mirror and set mirror aside.

Step 5. New Taco Clout Mirrors

Start by finding the correct new mirror for corresponding side of truck your working on. There will be lettering on the back of each mirror for R & L. If using BSM indicator, please remove the plastic film from the front of the indicator for the mirror being worked to expose adhesive. Place in mirror and press firmly to ensure adhesion.

Step 6. Remove and Replace Metal Clips

Remove the metal clips from the OEM mirror. Reattached the the metal clips you just removed to the new mirrors in the same attachment points.

Step 7. Wiring for BSM

Plug in your factory BSM wires. Route the BSM wire around mirror motor assembly attachment points using the integrated retention clips.

Note: You may skip this step if you did not purchase a BSM model, or if your truck is not equipped with Blind Spot Monitoring

Step 8. Wiring for Turn Signal

Pass the red & black wires through your mirror housing toward the front of truck. Splice wire leads into wires for the factory mirror turn signals. Black to white and red to pink. Do this however you prefer to splice. We recommend using T taps.

Note: You may skip this step if you did not purchase a Turn Signal model, or if your truck is not equipped with Turn Signals already in the mirrors. Most SR & SR5 Tacoma's won't have signals already installed in the mirrors.

Step 9. Attaching New Taco Clout Mirror

Carefully install the new mirror onto the mirror motor assembly attachment points (see removal photo below), ensuring wires are between attachment points and outside edge of the mirror to prevent wear or binding. When installing the new mirror, provide even pressure on mirror to prevent breaking. Once the mirror is aligned properly, additional even pressure can be provided on each corner of center of mirror (recommend using thumbs) to seat clips onto mirror motor assembly attachment points.

Step 10. Re-installing Turn Signal & Mirror Cap

Re-install the factory mirror turn signal using the original 2x Phillips screws and the integrated clip on back of signal. Tape excess wires for a clean install and to prevent potential issues or accelerated wear. Tuck wires away and out of the way.

Re-install mirror cap by aligning with the mirror body and pressing firmly around the edge of the mirror cap. Once it is on, repeat firm presses to ensure no clips were missed. It is common for them to not all seat at first.
